Further improvements and innovations followed; and in the 1930s, the first electric clothes dryer was invented and patented by J. Ross Moore. The latter sold his creation to Hamilton Manufacturing Co., which pioneered the commercial distribution of electric clothes dryer in the U.S. Today, clothes dryer can be found in almost every household in America, Britain and Europe, and more than a hundred thousand units of the appliance is manufactured every year. It is a valuable appliance for the household, as well as hospitals and other health care institutions.
